Wake Up Call

Today, OU Cancer Center called to schedule my chemo. “We have openings as soon as next Tuesday,” she said.

I almost fell over when I heard the voicemail. It took me three hours to call her back. I didn’t want to schedule it.

Turns out, it was a miscommunication, and we are still waiting on test results before we schedule. But, boy howdy….I sure realized just how NOT READY I am for this. I could hardly call her back.

Maybe this was a good dry run for me so I can prepared for the next time when it is actually real.

  1. Continued prayers for strength and healing. Grandma Nelson talked about you today. She may be confused at times, but she remembers everything when Loretta updates her on your journey. She thinks of you often, and keeps you and your family in her prayers daily. 🙂

  2. I don’t know that any of us would ever truly be ready. I guess you just have to keep moving forward in faith. I am praying for a speedy journey to a cancer-free outcome on the other side with as little discomfort as possible. We are all here for you!

  3. I am truly amazed at your strength. You are such an iron-willed woman. Thank you for showing me how strong a person really can be. 🙂

  4. Wow. Just reading those first couple of sentences put my stomach in a knot — can’t imagine how it must have felt to hear that voicemail. 🙁
    Love you, Jen.
