Things have been pretty uneventful these past couple months, but February begins a busy season of trips to Houston. With my reconstruction surgery scheduled for Feb. 12, we have a bunch of pre-op and post-op appointments which will keep us pretty busy.

MD Anderson: Post-Chemo/Radiation Appointments
It’s been a busy and productive day — as it always is when we come to MD Anderson.
No more radiation for me
Hallelujah!
35 treatments have come and gone.
I’d like to say it was easy and went by fast. I mean, it kind of did go by fast. It seems like I just started. At the same time, throughout the last seven weeks, it got progressively harder.
Woohoo!
It was a long day, but we will take long days like this when they turn out to be so good!
First up, our appointment with Dr. Moulder, the oncologist. She gave us the chemo plan which consists of 12 rounds of Taxol once a week, followed by four rounds of Adriamycin/Cytoxan/5-FU once every three weeks. Total treatment: 6 months.
It’s on!
Looks like heavy-duty antibiotics and commercial-grade moisturizer have rescued me! Surgery is on the docket for Monday afternoon.
And the bigger news…
Leaving on a jet plane…
Tomorrow we are leaving for Houston. We have appointments on Tuesday to settle when my right axillary dissection (aka removing the lymph nodes in my right armpit area) will be and if the expander will stay in or come out during that surgery.
In the meantime, I thought I’d share some of the pics I’ve taken over the past two hospital visits.
