Things have been pretty uneventful these past couple months, but February begins a busy season of trips to Houston. With my reconstruction surgery scheduled for Feb. 12, we have a bunch of pre-op and post-op appointments which will keep us pretty busy.

MD Anderson: Post-Chemo/Radiation Appointments
It’s been a busy and productive day — as it always is when we come to MD Anderson.
Surgery No. 4 — removing the port
On July 3 — at Jenny’s last chemo treatment — Dr. Razaq came to see her while she was hooked up on the infusion clinic. Jenny’s only question that day was about the port.
Surgery No. 3 — Placing the port
Jenny had another surgery today.
This time, she was awake the entire time, so I considered letting her live blog the entire procedure. But they said the anesthesia they were going to give her would make her very tired, so we took her cell phone away. Plus, I wanted her to save her energy so she could finish the laundry tonight.
Oh, how I’ll miss it
I got my drain pulled out today.
Boy, how I’ll miss it.
I’ll miss the stabbing feeling I would get when my shirt tugged on the tubing that was stitched into my side.
Home again, home again
We made it back home from Houston late last night. Feel so good to be home.
First of all, I must give kudos to my amazing husband who can predict, within a 5-minute window, what time we will pull into our driveway. Not just from Houston (Lord knows we’ve made that trip a zillion times), but from pretty much anywhere. And, while I give him a pretty hard time when he is off by a minute or two, I really do find it quite impressive.
